Launching a subreddit

We have created a discussion group on Reddit to act as our message board.  Reddit is the 4th most popular website in the United States. Our group is completely public.  I would suggest keeping that in mind when posting content.  We have added a “Forum” link to our page that will direct you there.   Otherwise you can visit the page directly by going to:

We are looking for someone to take ownership of this task.  This would involve moderating the site and updating the cascade stylesheets (CSS) so the page keeps consistent with the defcon theme.   If you’re interested you reach out to us on any of the methods from the contact us page.

ICS / SCADA security

At the meeting there was a lot of excitement about studying Industrial Control System (ICS) / SCADA security. I have found a list on github that covers many tools and literature regarding the topic. I will be reaching out to people in the community to do some discovery around what we can use to make a good lab environment.

April Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who came to the first meetings today. It was an introduction to the group with a casual meet and greet. We also went over topics that we could discuss for future meetings. We hope to see everyone at the next meeting.

Vulnerability Scanner

We have a vulnerability scanner online now. It can perform both authenticated and unauthenticated scans. It can generate reports and run on a schedule. We will be discussing the details of this project in an upcoming meeting.

We’re official now

Def Con has us listed on their site as an official group.  We’re currently scouting a good location to host our first meeting.  We will update the calendar and meetup with the schedule once it’s ready.
